It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

That it took until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the match."

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, somewhat inspired me," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing with the discomfort.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back plans to retire, this World Cup is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
